About Clare
Hello, I’m Clare, a Senior Scenic Artist and Prop Finisher with over 10 years’ experience working in feature films and high-end television. Alongside my professional career, I hold an MA in Moving Image from the Royal College of Art and studied Fine Art at Chelsea College of Art (UAL), giving me both a practical and creative understanding of the industry.
I currently work in film and television, so the advice I offer reflects today’s industry rather than outdated information. Throughout my career I’ve worked within fast-paced productions, collaborating with a wide range of departments and developing the practical skills, professionalism and resilience needed to succeed in the industry.
I mentor aspiring professionals, film school applicants, graduates and career changers who are looking for honest guidance on breaking into film and television. Whether you’re interested in the Art Department, production design, scenic art, props or understanding how the industry really works, my aim is to help you build confidence, avoid common pitfalls and take practical steps towards a sustainable creative career.
Every person’s journey into film is different, so my mentoring is tailored to your ambitions, experience and interests. My goal is to provide realistic, supportive and up-to-date advice that helps you make informed decisions and move your career forward.

My mentoring is designed for anyone looking to build a career in the film and television industry. Whether you’re applying to film school, exploring creative careers, preparing for interviews, or trying to break into the industry, I provide honest, practical guidance based on over 10 years’ experience working on major feature films and high-end television productions.
Every session is tailored to your goals. We can cover career pathways, CVs and portfolios, networking strategies, understanding how different departments work, freelancing, set etiquette, and what employers are really looking for. I can also provide insight into the Art Department, scenic art, prop finishing, production design and creative problem-solving, while helping you understand how large-scale productions operate.
Lessons typically last 60–90 minutes and are suitable for aspiring professionals, students, career changers and anyone interested in working in film and television. My aim is to give you practical, up-to-date advice that reflects how the industry works today, helping you make informed decisions and build confidence as you develop your career.
As someone who continues to work in film and television, I offer current industry insight rather than outdated advice. My mentoring is honest, supportive and realistic, helping you understand both the opportunities and the challenges of building a sustainable career in the creative industries.
