About Vanessa
I am a Senior English and History High School Teacher with over 10 years of teaching experience. I previously worked as a television news journalist and am passionate about teaching and seeing students reach their full potential. I have an excellent rapport with my students and love teaching. I have degrees in Journalism and Arts and majored in French and Spanish. I also have a Graduate Diploma in Secondary Education. Recently I have been tutoring international students online with a company called iTutor. I help students reach their potential and have a passion for teaching.

My teaching methodology is to be as innovative as possible. I implement and incorporate innovative ways that keep my students engaged and excited—in this very short-attention-span world we live in. Also, it is crucial that I am clear about what I want my students to learn during each lesson. I begin each lesson by outlining the lesson intention and the learning outcome for each lesson. Connection and rapport is also very important to keep my students engaged and willing to learn. I believe in connecting to my students and building a relationship so that students feel safe, engaged and enthusiastic about learning. Finally,giving feedback is very important to ensure students succeed. Giving feedback involves letting my students know how they have performed on a particular task along with ways that they can improve.
