About Meghan
I am an English and Biology Major on the pre-medical track at UNC Chapel Hill. I am extremely passionate about learning, as well as teaching and mentorship. I have tutored and been tutored for many years and believe that I have a good understand of what works and what doesn't. I believe in the power of individualized/one-on-one teaching and feel that its very important to tailor my lessons to different types of students with different types of learning styles. I also believe that working with a tutor consistently over time is beneficial for students--offering a familiar face that they can trust for academic advice.

I have found that my preferred means of teaching parallel the ways in which I like to learn--through example problems and real life applications that help the concepts make sense beyond the pages of a textbook.
Because I have had to take many science courses, I have tried various modes of learning and find that example/practice problems are the best way to truly master a concept. Because of this, I tend to start my lessons with a review problem from the last lesson (if we are meeting consistently), a brief overview of the new concept, and then following with as many practice problems as possible.
I also find that my English coursework has enhanced my ability to read a question and understand what the test-makers are really asking. This is information that I would love to pass onto others.
I am open to tutoring across a broad range of subjects at many different levels, but preferably science courses, including: Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and Math
