About Hannah

I have a background in social work, so I value confidentiality of the student. I want to create a positive working relationship with my student while making sure they have the resources needed to be successful.

I have worked with students of various backgrounds as well as ages 6 to 25. I enjoy reading and the outdoors but I also don’t mind a movie night from time to time.

About the lesson

Structure and outline are one of my biggest tools in teaching students how to write their essays. Other times, it’s creating an atmosphere where conversation and ideas are freely exchanged while having my student reflect on the passage of literature or informational reading. Providing the opportunity to converse helps with comprehension and understanding as well as giving the student time to develop confidence in the subject matter. This later helps in note-taking, short answers as well as learning new vocabulary.
