  • When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?

I fell in love with the subject of Biology in grade 11 but was never truly interested in research or other careers related to Biology of that kind. Then I came across the idea of teaching and immediately knew that's where I wanted to end up. Although research is a great option for many and can have amazing ramifications, I found teaching to have a more fulfilling and higher potential of making a difference in many young people's lives. It gives me instant gratification, and I know that I am having a positive impact on someone's life.
  • What makes you passionate about your subject?

Biology is something that can never get old for me. I find it fascinating how all these simple molecules have formed into unfathomably complex systems that are within all of us. I find the subject to be endlessly interesting, with there being always something new to learn, or a new aspect of the system that can be understood in a way we never thought possible.
  • What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?

I love tutoring because I understand, especially as being a student myself, that not all teachers mesh the best with our learning needs. Tutoring therefore provides an enormous platform of educators passionate about education, that can offer a wide variety of accommodations for any student.
  • Do you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

My grade 6 teacher was probably the best teacher I have ever had, and for one reason only. He not only taught us the course material, but I found I learned so much crucial knowledge about different cultures, diversity and just general life skills. He always found a way to integrate various backgrounds into his teaching, exposing us to different ways of life. He also taught me the most about kindness and generosity, and how important portraying those qualities are.
  • What are your keys to success?

The key to success for myself would be to have love in your life. I find that if I have a friend, family or some sort of support that I know i can turn to, that in turn have a great impact on my energy levels and work efficiency.
I found that specifically with school work, the one thing I always focus on is repetition and focusing on understanding the material as a whole. Keeping the big picture in mind while also trying to go over course material several times a day really ensure I know the material well.
