About Anna
I am currently studying psychology at Durham University, but I also studied Biology and Chemistry at A level which I really enjoyed. I have always been scientifically-minded and really have a passion for science.
At school and university, participating in debating societies and Model UN conferences has helped me to learn to communicate my ideas clearly and concisely, which is a valuable skill for tutoring.

I am patient and understanding when it comes to explaining concepts to students and making sure they thorough grasp of a topic. I consider myself to be warm and approachable, so students should feel comfortable in asking me any questions and not be afraid of getting the wrong answer.
During my psychology degree, I have studied memory and have read lots of research that has investigated which learning techniques result in the best recall. This has very useful applications for tutoring; I can help students to memorise the information they need for an exam as effectively as possible.
I believe that doing practice papers and past-paper questions is very important because it helps students to consolidate their knowledge while also helping them to figure out where the gaps in their knowledge might be. So for me, it is important to incorporate practice questions into my tutoring sessions.
