She is an amazing person and a true teacher in every possible way. She is my mentor and really gives me advice that helps me in the journey of my research career . Talking to her for few minutes helps to keep my perspective in my place and feel inspired about research. We need more teacher like her to motivate students like us to keep going.

I have known Payel for the last eight years as a friend and classmate and I can very strongly vouch for her suitability for this role.
Payel is a natural teacher and presenter. She has the ability to both organize thoughts and informations, condense them into useful and digestible chunks and convey it in a way that is easy to grasp. On numerous occasions, she has tutored me and my friends before an examination and made numerous subject matters easy to comprehend. She is a naturally gifted orator and has beautifully captivated audiences during class presentations. She has a grasp and command over the subject matter, thinks critically and has the ability to cite creative and illustrative examples while explaining something. I have also seen Payel taking and preparing notes and I marvel at her ability to condense a subject matter into it's bare essentials. In addition she has a friendly, approachable personality and genuinely enjoys teaching and mentoring juniors. She even undertook a department excursion as the sole senior where she mentored juniors and helped them conduct their course projects for her sheer love of teaching. She wishes to return to her home country, India after completing her PhD and acquire a faculty position at IIT Bombay.
