About Issa

Hi! I'm Issa and I am a second-year History undergraduate at the University of Oxford. I'm here to offer tutoring for Maths, History and/or English literature/language or any aid needed for Oxbridge admissions. I understand it can be quite daunting, especially if your school does not offer adequate support, to get the grades to get into your desired Sixth Form/College/University - especially when some of them have interviews and admissions tests. I have been in the same position, being the first person in my family to go to university, yet I came out of it achieving 10+ 9's at GCSEs and A* A* A A at A-level and now study a degree I really love at Oxford. I look forward to hearing from anyone interested in tutoring or admissions advice.

About the lesson

Students interested in admissions support will be given mock interviews replicating Oxbridge standards - advice and feedback will be provided on interview performance but also written work/admissions test and personal statement. Duration of the lessons will vary on the service desired. Students interested in GCSE/A-Level tutoring for History and English literature/language will, firstly, have a revision strategy organised with them discussing next steps, examiner's reports, exam technique and suggested resources to approach content. From there, teaching will be focused on the student writing exam question responses as homework, and a session going through the student's answer and what the student needs to focus on for their next lesson. Duration of the lessons will be, at minimum 30 minutes but one hour is suggested. Students interested in GCSE/A-Level tutoring for Maths will have their aptitude in different topics assessed, firstly, and thereafter the sessions will involve going through past paper questions together slowly building their confidence in Maths and tackling challenging questions beyond the basics once the student's foundational understanding forms. Duration of lessons is, at minimum, one hour.
