About Heming
Hello! My name is Heming, and I’m excited to be your computer science tutor. I graduated with second-class honors (upper division) in Advanced Computing from the Australian National University, where I also completed a research thesis on optimizing instruction-level parallelism for scientific software. My academic background includes a minor in Physics and Mathematics, and I’ve presented my research at Supercomputing Asia 2023.
With experience in both the theoretical and practical sides of computing, I specialize in topics such as CPU instruction pipelining, multi-core parallelism, and GPU multi-threading. I’ve also worked extensively with modern C++ (C++11 and beyond), MPI, OpenGL, and CUDA, as well as full-stack web development, game engine development, and synthesizer design.
Beyond academics, I’ve written my own game engine and synthesizer engine, and I have hands-on experience in building multiplayer games and live coding platforms for audio synthesis. My teaching approach is practical and tailored to each student's unique learning style, focusing on simplifying complex concepts and providing real-world examples.
