About Sable
I’m a guitar tutor with over 7 years of experience and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Digital Guitar Performance. My lessons are tailored to fit each student’s unique goals and skill level, from beginners to advanced players. I specialise in slide guitar techniques, open tunings, and fingerpicking styles rooted in the blues tradition. I love guiding students who want to master authentic blues sounds. Over the years, I’ve taught multiple regional blues styles, including Delta, Chicago, and Piedmont. My teaching style is supportive and motivating—I’m here to help you build confidence and enjoy the learning process. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to deepen your blues expertise, I create lessons that challenge and inspire. My teaching approach focuses on developing your ear to truly understand music. I emphasise ear training, transcribing songs, melodic dictation, and interval recognition. These skills help you connect what you hear to what you play on the guitar. I believe strong aural skills are the key to musical growth. I work well with students like The Campfire Strummer and The Blues Seeker, who want to improve their listening and playing abilities. We use step-by-step exercises tailored to your level. You’ll learn to identify notes, rhythms, and melodies by ear. This makes learning songs and creating music easier and more fun. I keep lessons clear and practical, helping you build confidence. With patience and practice, you’ll pick out melodies on your own. Together, we’ll unlock your musical potential. My goal is for you to enjoy playing music naturally and freely. You'll soon find yourself understanding music in a deeper way.
