About James
I grew up in Atlanta, Ga before my family moved to Savannah after high school. I spent 4 years in Charleston, SC at The Citadel and graduated with a degree in business.
After college I spent a number of years traveling the country “finding myself” before returning to Savannah with a passion for the food and beverage industry. However my experience was limited to the front of the house so I applied and was accepted the ACF(American Culinary Federation) accredited apprenticeship program at the prestigious Sea Island Resort on St Simon’s island, Ga.
After graduation I moved backed to Savannah and worked in and opened a number of restaurants as well as selling produce for a local distributor.
In 2016 I opened my own catering business and have not looked back. I specialize in ready to go meals that are made from scratch using local ingredients and whole unprocessed ingredients. I love to work with people and help others when ever I can, and I hope this endeavor can build on that desire.

Hello and welcome!
I am a chef owner operator of Scratch Made Catering in South Ga. I have over 25 years of experience in the culinary world and I have literally done it all from front to back of the house to catering to cooking classes and more.
I’d love to share my experience and expertise as well as customize a lesson plan based on individual needs be it dietary, cultural by region or just home cooks looking to do more. I look forward to sharing my knowledge and skills.
