About Brad

I am a 39 year old dual citizen of Australia and New Zealand, currently living in Mexico where I also have permanent residency. I have spent much of my life travelling and experiencing cultures throughout the Americas, the Pacific, and Southeast Asia. These experiences have shaped my global perspective and deepened my interest in language and communication. I studied at university in Australia and earned my ESL teaching certificate from a well established college in Brisbane in 2022. Since then, I have taught English in both Mexico and Honduras, including a position with Berlitz in Mexico. Outside of teaching, I enjoy snowboarding, surfing, trail running, and creating music which I write, produce, and sell. I also make videos and have recently started exploring photography as a potential professional path. I bring curiosity, creativity, and a strong passion for learning into everything I do.

About the lesson

Teaching Methods and Techniques My teaching approach is personalised and student-focused. I work to understand each learner's strengths, challenges, and preferred learning style, then adapt my lessons accordingly. Rather than relying on rote learning, I use active engagement techniques—like guided questions, practical examples, and interactive exercises—to help students grasp and retain concepts more effectively. I strive to create a positive and supportive environment where students feel at ease making mistakes and asking questions, which I believe are key to real learning. Lesson Duration A typical session could 60 minutes, offering enough time to explore topics thoroughly while keeping students engaged. However, I'm flexible and can adjust to shorter (30–45 minute) or longer (90-minute) sessions based on the student's age, goals, and attention span. Experience and Qualifications I hold a 600 hour TESOL certificate and a Bachelor of Applied Science (Ecology Major), and bring over a year of tutoring experience to each session. Who I Teach I tutor a broad range of learners, including: Primary, secondary, university students and business students. Adult learners returning to education or upskilling for professional reasons ESL students looking to improve their English fluency or if they have no English knowledge at all.
