About Ellen
I am a Genetics graduate and current Master’s student with a strong academic background in biology and hands-on research experience. I am passionate about helping students build confidence, improve understanding, and achieve their full potential in biology. My approach is structured, supportive, and focused on clear explanations and exam success. I am reliable, well-prepared, and committed to maintaining a professional and encouraging learning environment. I take pride in explaining topics clearly, adapting to each student’s needs, and helping them develop both subject knowledge and confidence in their abilities. I aim to make biology accessible, engaging, and less intimidating for students at all levels.

My teaching style is student-centred and exam-focused, with lessons tailored to each student’s level and learning style. I break down complex biology topics into clear, manageable steps using diagrams, examples, and past exam questions, with strong emphasis on exam technique and marking schemes, especially for Leaving Cert Biology.
Lessons typically last 60 minutes and include explanation of key topics, active questioning, and exam-style practice. Extra revision sessions can be arranged before exams.
I hold a degree in Genetics and am currently completing a Master’s degree, with laboratory and research experience that helps me explain biology clearly and confidently.
I offer tutoring for Junior Cycle and Leaving Cert Biology, suitable for students aged 12–18, whether they need extra support, revision, or help improving exam performance
