I'm a dedicated educator driven by a genuine passion for helping students unlock their potential. Currently working in an elementary school while earning my degree in Childhood Education and Social Psychology at Hunter College (3.9 GPA), I combine academic excellence with hands-on classroom experience in every tutoring session. I believe every student learns differently, so I start by understanding how each child thinks and what motivates them. My method focuses on building genuine understanding rather than memorization—I use real-world examples, visual aids, and hands-on activities to make abstract concepts tangible. Growing up with a teacher for a mother and working daily in a classroom has taught me that patience, encouragement, and adaptability are just as important as subject knowledge.
Each session follows a flexible structure:
Check-in (5 min): Review previous material and identify current challenges
Targeted instruction (20-30 min): Break down new concepts using multiple approaches until it clicks
Guided practice (15-20 min): Work through problems together, gradually releasing responsibility to the student
Independent work (10 min): Student demonstrates understanding while I provide support as needed
Wrap-up (5 min): Summarize key takeaways and preview homework or next session
I adjust timing and activities based on the student's age, attention span, and learning needs.
