About Kat

I was born naturally gifted in the area of verbal intelligence. Having missed only 2 questions on the verbal SAT's I was able to enter college at age 16. I took coursework in every area of the humanities.

I additionally invested myself in the first two years of an elementary education program up to a 30 hour internship with Portland Public Schools. This was carried out at the Community Transitional School for houseless students.

My writings have appeared in various periodicals over the years - from poetry to book and product reviews. An essay in "Pagan Consent Culture" (Asphodel 2015) on an assigned topic has been taught at the college level.

As an actor I appeared as "Tina" on the original cast recording of "Bite Me a Little: a Vampire Musical" and in the Fertile Grounds Festival. I performed as "the Voice" in Antero Alli's "A Turbulence of Muses." I have written and directed two full length musicals at the community theatre level.

I have additional coursework in Women's Studies. I worked producing synopsis entries for a special collection of such literature featuring memoir and racial justice topics. I produced two training materials for use in skill-share environments. I am familiar with all areas of activism and social justice; and have served in a leadership capacity in non-profits since the age of thirteen - starting as a peer counselor.

I have served two short-term overseas missions.
