About Sara
Hi! I’m Sara, a second-year Psychology and Legal Studies student at UC Santa Cruz. I have years of experience working with students of all ages, helping them improve reading, writing, grammar, and essay skills. I’ve tutored elementary, middle, and high school students, assisted with homework, and guided students in developing strong, organized, and confident writing. I’ve also taken numerous English and writing-intensive courses, including AP English Language and AP European History in high school, and continue to take college courses that involve extensive reading, annotating, analyzing, and writing. These experiences allow me to confidently support students with essays, comprehension, and critical thinking. I’m patient, approachable, and committed to creating a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and practicing new skills. My goal is to make learning engaging and effective so every student gains confidence, improves their abilities, and achieves their academic goals.

I work with students of all ages, from those just beginning to read to those tackling more advanced writing and comprehension skills. My lessons are designed to help students improve their English through structured, hands-on practice. Each session typically starts with reviewing homework or assignments, followed by focused exercises on reading, writing, grammar, and essay development. I provide guidance on brainstorming, organizing ideas, drafting, and revising essays, and I offer tips to strengthen writing clarity and style. I also help students tackle challenging homework, explain difficult concepts, and practice skills in a supportive and interactive way. My goal is to make lessons productive, personalized, and engaging, so students gain confidence and see real improvement in their work.
