About Gabrielle
I am a University of Cambridge graduate with degrees in Classics, Publishing and Vocal Performance, and over the years I have worked with over twenty students to improve their language, writing and general study skills. My students have mastered ancient languages, found strategies to cope with learning disabilities, and overcome language barriers to express and advocate for themselves effectively in English.
I am also a trained opera singer and believe that music is also a type of language;

Knowing how to learn, as well as what to learn, is essential to academic success. I take an integrative approach to help students master study skills and subject matter at the same time. Clear and achievable goals are essential, so I break down every subject into manageable chunks with regular assessments to give you an idea of your progress.
Whether you are excited by the subject and want to delve deeper, or whether you are frustrated with a subject that just seems too hard, I can help you take your learning to the next level. Because everyone learns differently, I believe a good teacher should be ready to explain concepts in multiple ways. My approach is highly individualized, with the right blend of patience, empathy and academic rigor for each student's needs.

Details
Cancellation policy: I value your time and prepare thoroughly for tutoring sessions. If you need to cancel a session with at least 24 hours' notice, I am happy to reschedule for free. Cancellations made less than 24 hours ahead will incur a 50% fee.
Travel: My standard fee includes travel under 45 minutes within San Francisco on public transportation. For locations outside of central San Francisco, there is an additional $20 fee to cover transit time and costs.
