About Grace

Across the past 5 years I have gained experience teaching piano to students aged between 8 - 65, from beginners to upper-intermediates, and have also helped students work towards grades and exams between 1 - 8.

Singing was my main choice of instrument in university and because of this, I had many sessions with a professional opera singer where I learnt lots of tips and techniques on how to keep your voice engaged and healthy and your tone stable.

Also during my time at university, I was in the Music Education Group committee and taught a wide variety of music to primary school children, as well as adults in hospitals and care-homes.

I achieved an A in Music A-Level. I have ABRSM grade 8 in Piano, Flute and Singing, and a diploma in Music Literacy from the University of West London.

About the lesson

My teaching method is quite simply what works best for the individual. I tailor my singing lessons around the student and their needs as I find a student-focused method always cultivates the best experience for the student. I take great interest in understanding a student's goals, learning styles and preferences. I recognise that each student has a unique learning style; some students thrive with structure, while others may prefer to just go with the flow and see where it takes them!

I create lesson plans and realistic goals that encourage students to reach their full potential. I keep records of the student's progress, including areas where they have achieved and areas for improvement. I believe it is vital to share this information with the student, or their parents, in order to encourage and motivate them to continue their progress with their voice.

I also understand life is busy and there is not always a lot of time to do the things we love. Which is why I offer lessons to people who shift work, aren't available for regular weekly lessons or generally just have limited free time - I have the flexibility to schedule in lessons whenever works best for you, no strings attached. Just enquire!

I love teaching any level at any age, as I believe music should be explored and enjoyed by everyone. Everyone has the ability to be a brilliant musician!
