About Jennifer
I come from a long line of teachers: my mother, two sisters, my husband and my daughter. I find myself, even in retirement, constantly imagining how I would present a concept, a skill, and various ways to engage by teaching outside the box. I have 40 years of teaching experience in all grade levels, K-12, in all my prior certification areas: Art, Social Studies, Language Arts, Gifted Enrichment.

I utilize various online curriculum offerings, texts, primary resources and personal stories to bring subjects to life. Boring sessions are useless! A typical lesson would include review, overview, presentation, summary and evaluation. I emphasize personal connection with students. Nobody learns from a cold impersonal mentor. My specialties (and experience) include 20 years of art/culture instruction at a center for gifted students and social studies at the middle school level. In 1999 I was one of the earliest National Board of Professional Teaching Standards awardees of a national certification in my state of Florida. I might be retired from the classroom but my passion to share is still hard at work.
