About Ros
I am a retired Senior Lecturer in Criminology, I am educated to post graduate level. I am a sociologist by specialism with Psychology, social history and general science as subsidiary subjects. I have extensive knowledge and experience of study skills and offer study skills support across the curriculum to all age groups. Whether you are struggling with your studies, anxious about exams or would like to return to studying, I will be able to support you to develop your study skills. I have taught across the education system, I started by teaching in adult education, sixth form and community college teaching GCSE A'level and BTEC courses. I have lectured in Sociology both in house and distance learning. I offer tutoring in Sociology from GCSE to Graduate level. I teach my subsidiary subjects at GCSE and A'level.

I take a learner centred approach and use a combination of learning strategies, adapting my teaching method to suit the students individual learning style. I focus on building the students confidence in their learning as well as building their knowledge of their subject. I use a wide range of teaching resources to stimulate the students interest in the subject. I take the time to identify a students learning strengths and identify specific areas of difficulty. I have extensive study skills knowledge and experience and aim to develop the students study skills approach. My aim is to empower the student in their learning experience and stimulate their interest in the subject.
