About Charles
Since my retirement from teaching college, I have tutored 430+ hours helping high school students, mostly, with English and History assignments, and college students with a variety of multi-topic term papers and writing assignments. I have also done much proofreading for other teachers and students.

My lessons are centered around the student's needs and not my particular interest. I start with the student and not myself. First, what is the assignment? Is it clear? Is it understood? Is there any particular problem the student faces before she/ he begins? Once that question is resolved, I ask what is the most immediate need? Ideas? Subject matter? Collecting valid content? Valid references? Avoiding plagiarism? After those questions (or questions like those) are resolved, I take the time to help the student develop a plan for starting and finishing the assignment. This is done through brainstorming until a plan with a protocol is in place. Once that is accomplished, we begin.
