About Kate
I am a guitar teacher with over 7+ years of experience teaching both online and in-person. I hold a Bachelor of Music in Guitar Performance, focusing on Contemporary Styles. My lessons emphasize composition, arranging, and creating original music for guitar. I teach harmonic concepts, melodic invention, counterpoint, and basic demo recording to help students bring ideas to life. I tailor lessons to individual goals, supporting beginners, advanced learners, and professional composers. I encourage creative exploration, experimentation, and personal expression. Lessons balance theory, composition, and performance, offering a holistic musical experience. Students learn to write, perform, and record their original pieces confidently. I provide practical tools and exercises to strengthen musical creativity and technical skill. Lessons are engaging, hands-on, and inspiring. Students leave with a better understanding of music structure and their personal voice. Together, we focus on developing original guitar compositions and exploring musical ideas. I invite you to join me in discovering the joy of creating your own music.

I teach guitarists to connect music theory directly with practical playing. Lessons include scales, modes, chord construction, and harmonic analysis. I show students how to apply theory on the fretboard for improvisation, songwriting, and performance. Students learn to build scales, form chords, and analyze harmonic progressions in real music. I adapt lessons to individual goals, from rock and jazz to classical music. Exercises encourage melodic creation, improvisation, and exploring chordal and modal relationships. Complex concepts are broken down into approachable steps for immediate application. Lessons integrate rhythm practice, ear training, and musical analysis. Students gain fluency in navigating keys, modes, and chord progressions. I emphasize hands-on learning, creativity, and consistent practice. Lessons are interactive, structured, and motivating. Students develop expressive skills, confidence, and musical independence. Together, we unlock the practical power of music theory, enhancing improvisation, composition, and overall guitar performance.
