About Prachi
Hi, I’m Prachi. I’m currently a research student at IISER, and I teach Mathematics for Classes 9–12 and Physics for Classes 9–10 for CBSE and ICSE students.
My own academic interests are in mathematics and physics, and I enjoy working with students who want to understand these subjects clearly rather than just memorize steps or formulas. I know from experience that subjects like Math and Physics can feel intimidating when concepts are not explained properly, so I try to make them more approachable by breaking ideas down carefully and focusing on the logic behind each method.
Alongside my academic work, I have also assisted teachers with designing worksheets, exams, and pedagogical material. This has given me useful experience in thinking not only about the subject itself, but also about how students learn, where they commonly struggle, and how practice can be structured in a meaningful way. I bring that perspective into my teaching by aiming for classes that are clear, organized, and genuinely helpful rather than rushed or overly formulaic.
I teach online in a one-to-one format, which allows me to adapt the pace and level of explanation to each student. My goal is to help students build strong fundamentals, improve their problem-solving, and become more confident approaching questions independently.

My teaching approach is centered on conceptual clarity, structured problem-solving, and building confidence with the subject. I believe students learn best when they understand why a method works, not just what steps to memorize. Because of that, I try to make classes interactive, patient, and paced according to the student’s level of comfort with the topic.
In a typical class, I usually begin by identifying what the student already understands and where the confusion lies. I then explain the concept step by step, connect it to the relevant formulas or methods, and work through a few examples with the student. After that, I encourage the student to solve problems independently with guidance, so that they can gradually become comfortable approaching questions on their own rather than depending on memorized patterns. I also place emphasis on common mistakes, exam-oriented practice, and learning how to translate theory into actual question-solving.
One of my strengths as a teacher is that I focus not only on explaining content, but also on how students learn a topic. Through my experience assisting teachers with designing worksheets, exams, and pedagogical material, I have developed a good sense of where students commonly struggle and how to structure practice so that it improves both understanding and performance. I aim to make classes thoughtful, organized, and comfortable enough that students feel free to ask questions without hesitation.
My classes are intended for CBSE and ICSE students studying Mathematics in Classes 9–12 and Physics in Classes 9–10. They are especially suitable for students who feel they understand a chapter while reading or listening in class, but find it difficult to solve questions independently, as well as students who want to strengthen their fundamentals and gain more confidence in the subject.
