About Merih Bektas

I have been working as an academic tutor, assessor, lecturer and supervisor at Leicester University since 2013. I am a psychologist with BA and MSc in Psychology. But I also did Masters of Research in Psychology (MRes) at the University of Birmingham, and PhD in Research in Counselling and Psychotherapy at the University of Leicester. I specialise in qualitative research methods. I have also been working as a private practitioner offering counselling/therapy using integrative and Cognitive Behavioural Approach since 1992. I can offer my work in Turkish language as well.

About the lesson

I am Dr Merih Fidan, educated both in Turkey and Britain. I am a passionate, optimist, visionary and hard-working psychologist and academic. My teaching techniques have evolved in time after I have taught adult mature higher education students. It includes peer review, small group, explorative and empowering type of teaching with the aim of giving confidence, providing knowledge and skills to the students.

Perfect! Merih is a very approachable and friendly tutor and gave me some very insightful suggestions and advice on my project aims. We had an introductory session to get to know each other and then discussed post-graduate study options.
