About Declan
I am an experienced piano tutor with over 18+ years of teaching experience, working with students from school, college, and working professional backgrounds. I believe that anyone can learn piano with the right guidance and dedication. My teaching approach focuses on patience, clarity, and step-by-step progress.
I adapt my lessons based on each student’s learning style and goals, helping them improve steadily. I focus on building strong fundamentals before moving to advanced techniques. Along with piano, I teach music theory, ear training, and rhythm exercises to support overall musical understanding.
I include practical exercises and creative methods to keep lessons engaging. My strength is making learning simple and effective. I help students build confidence, improve consistency, and develop regular practice habits. I aim to create a positive and encouraging environment where students feel inspired to learn.

My teaching methodology focuses on adaptive, engaging, and personalised learning. I believe piano lessons should be motivating, enjoyable, and tailored to each student’s abilities and goals. Through clear communication, I understand each student’s strengths, challenges, and musical interests, which allows me to design lessons that are effective, inspiring, and fun.
Creativity plays a key role in my teaching. Students are encouraged to improvise, compose, and explore different musical styles, helping them build confidence and develop a unique musical voice. Flexibility ensures lessons are adapted to the student’s pace, skill level, and preferred learning style, making learning smooth, productive, and enjoyable.
Alongside piano, I teach music theory, sight-reading, rhythm exercises, and ear training. This holistic approach develops technical proficiency, musical understanding, and expressive ability. My goal is to nurture confident, creative, and passionate musicians.
