About Alexis
I have been tutoring for ten years now, teaching 460 students who mostly wanted a relaxed, enjoyable way to learn Spanish rather than an intense academic program demanding constant progress. My own relationship with Spanish grew casually through travel and curiosity, never intense classroom study, and that shapes everything about how I teach today. I believe pressure kills curiosity far more often than it builds genuine fluency in someone learning a new language. Students tell me our sessions feel like the easiest part of their week, not another stressful obligation piled on top of everything else. I measure success in whether a student still wants to keep talking with me.

My Spanish lessons feel like casual conversation between friends rather than a formal class, since I have found relaxed curiosity produces far better real learning than any pressure ever does. We chat about whatever genuinely interests the student that day, letting new vocabulary sneak in naturally rather than being drilled through a rigid fixed list handed over. I never rush a student toward formal grammar unless they specifically ask for that kind of structured practice themselves during a session. Mistakes get a shrug and a laugh, then we simply keep talking without any drama attached to getting something slightly wrong along the way. Sessions stay loose and conversational, following whatever topic genuinely interests the student that particular day rather than a fixed rigid plan.
