I have done unstructured tutorials for my children.Older one has an education degree and the youngest doingprimary health care.
Though I did not home school them...I assisted with their educational needs as they presented themselves.
I am a spelling wizz and a grammar police.
Provide me with your syllabus and I will deconstruct the course work for you into manageable sections,paragraphing and rephrasing.
I have a fun approach to learning...that and a dogmatic approach to remembering detail.
Some course work need repetative reciting, rote learning as such...writing notes/paragraphing to cement recall during exams and testing.
So...a lesson would consist of a brief overview of content.
Followed by summaried bullet point objectives. This needs to be rote learned...ie. recited/rewritten...using old fashion pen and paper...in front of a mirror/or without. Like self-talk...it works...it did with both my children.
Once the objectives are drilled into memory...it forms a scaffolding for writing a mind map to flesh out the content as such.
Once the mind map is completed...the student writes notes as homework. And follow-up would be past exam questions and designing a scripted answer to the value of allocated points.
