About Leif

I am a passionate tutor with 6 years of experience teaching chess to high school and college students. My love for education comes from the joy of seeing students grow, gain confidence, and develop their thinking skills through the game of chess. I believe learning should be a positive and inspiring journey for every student. Over the years, I have had the privilege to teach between 150 to 200 students. Many of them started as beginners and went on to win school tournaments or improve their rankings. One of my proudest moments was helping a student qualify for a regional chess championship after just six months of focused training. My goal is to make chess fun, thoughtful, and full of learning. I always create a friendly and supportive space where students feel motivated to ask questions and try new strategies. Whether you're aiming to compete or just enjoy the game, I’m here to help you reach your goals with patience, creativity, and care.

About the lesson

My teaching methodology is built on motivation, patience, compassion, and creativity. I believe every student learns at their own pace, and I always create a calm and positive space for growth. Whether you're a beginner or looking to sharpen your skills, I help build your confidence step by step. In chess, I focus on helping students understand the “why” behind every move. We explore opening strategies, midgame tactics, and endgame techniques through simple explanations and practice games. I encourage creative thinking and teach how to stay calm and focused during matches. Mistakes are never failures—they're just lessons that help us improve. Along with chess, I also support students in related subjects like logical reasoning, strategy games, or basic maths. I adapt my style to what works best for you and always keep learning fun and engaging. My goal is not just to teach but to inspire every student to enjoy the learning journey.
