About Dean
I did a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry and then a PhD in biochemistry in the UK. I was then a contract researcher in biochemistry and neuroscience at universities and research institutes in Switzerland, Australia and the US for about 12 years and then a faculty member for about 22 years. I have over 70 research publications and ran my own research lab for over 20 years. My teaching started with 1st year chemistry big lectures up to 500 students and finished with cell biology and neuroscience smaller classes, with a lot of biochemistry and metabolism in between. I always had fun with it.

I taught at Australian Universities as a faculty member for 22 years. I retired last year at 60, but I now realize I miss it. I always enjoyed the interaction with students and my teaching evaluations were very good. I love enthusing about science, explaining things and motivating. I stopped so that I could travel. I hope this platform will allow me to do both.
