About Maria
English, Writing, and Reading:
I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Barrett Honors College at ASU with a degree in Political Science. Because of this, I have had ample experience in essay writing-- and developed particularly strong skills in reading comprehension, textual analysis, and written language skills (grammar, spelling, word choice, you name it). I also have quite a bit of creative, persuasive, and oratorical skills as well, as I was a member of our school's Mock Trial team for four years!
Spanish.
I also obtained a minor in Spanish during my undergrad. Not only did I take Spanish classes for eight years during both high school and college, I also lived in Argentina for a summer during my junior year of college. As someone with an immense appreciation for Spanish (but also as someone who learned Spanish as a second language), I feel that I really understand where/why someone might struggle with Spanish, and think I could certainly help bridge that gap.
Economics:
I also obtained a minor in Economics in college! Not only did my economics minor improve my understanding of the impact finances can have on our society, but my required mathematics classes strengthened my abilities in calculations, statistics, and algebra. I love math, and would be thrilled to teach it to you in a way that's easy to understand!
Piano:
I took formal piano lessons for 10 years until I was in high school, but my love for the instrument has only grown since then. Since high school, I have taken to teaching myself music theory, chord progressions, and playing by ear. These skills have been the greatest gifts I've ever given to myself, and I would be honored to teach them to you as well!

I would be absolutely honored to be chosen to be your tutor, and even more honored to help you improve your understanding of whatever you need tutoring in! I know how difficult it can be to ask for help, so goal is to ensure you don't feel judged. Of course, I will do everything possible to ensure that you understand the material enough to complete it on your own-- we won't stop until you completely understand!
The type of lesson plan will vary depending on what you need to be tutored on, but I've had years of tutoring/assistant teaching in all sorts of subjects. Not only would our session be specific depending on the lesson, but I hope to cater to your specific needs as well! :)
