About Callandra

This is my first experience as a private tutor and I am extremely excited to begin. I do have extensive experience mentoring younger students through the 'college family' system at university, and also assisting Year 8 students during my time in Sixth Form in their Art classes, where I was able to encourage the Year 8 students to seek out artists and experiment with their ideas. Offering guidance to my college 'children' was incredibly rewarding, as I was able to support them with both their studies and college life more generally.

About the lesson

My name is Callandra and I am available to tutor any student looking to improve their skills in History and English Literature, from primary school level to A-Level. I am friendly, patient and enthused by my subject, and I hope to be able to inspire students to engage deeply with source material, to find joy in their studies and to strive to succeed.

I have completed undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at Durham University and University College London, respectively, and am passionate about developing one's academic potential.

I will tailor my lessons to the student's specific requirements so that they can feel in control of their learning and development. While keeping the student's curriculum at the centre of lessons, I also aim to introduce them to a range of sources and supplementary material in order to develop the key skills one needs to approach any academic question with sophistication and intelligence.

In addition, I am also happy to assist students with university applications and personal statements.
