My teaching style is less about lecturing and more about guiding students to think critically in order to solve problems themselves. I focus on asking the right questions, encouraging independent thought and breaking concepts down into approachable steps. A typical lesson would involve: - Quick recap of the last session, clearing up any confusion. - Introduce the new concept using school-provided material such as lectures or slides. - Guided practice where we work through problems together, with me offering support as needed. - Independent practice where both of us solve problems individually. Once complete, the student explains to me their process or shares where they got stuck. This helps me pinpoint their strengths and weaknesses and provide targeted success. - Quick summary and preview of what we learned and what's next. What sets me apart? - Facilitation over lecture: A close friend I tutored once called me a facilitator, emphasizing that I helped him discover the answer on his own using tips and tricks I've developed throughout my college career. - Recent Graduate: Many of these concepts are still fresh in my mind. I not only understand the material but I also see the student perspective- the stress, the learning curves and strategies that work.
