About Nathan
I am a recent PhD graduate from Loyola University Chicago, where I wrote a dissertation on Friedrich Nietzsche's views on freedom and their ethical implications. I have presented my scholarly work at the Nietzsche in the Northeast Conference in Binghamton, NY and the Chicago Area Consortium in German Philosophy. I am currently working on publishing a paper on Nietzsche's view of practical agency. Beginning Fall 2026, I will serve as Visiting Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Arts, Culture, and Technology at Clarkson University in upstate NY.

Over the last twenty years, I have taught over fifty collegiate courses in writing, philosophy, and literature. I have acquired a ton of experience working with diverse student populations and aim to tailor lessons to the specific learning styles of students. In a typical lesson plan, I present organizing material that creates a theoretical framework through which students are tasked with solving concrete problems of reading interpretation or analytical reasoning, followed by a guided discussion and review of the key takeaways. Lessons can be tailored for any level and any class.
