About Michael
I have recently graduated with a bachelor's degree in mathematics from the University of Leeds. Throughout my second and final year at university, I tutored younger year students on both one-on-one and classroom-based situations in order to aid them to achieve and exceed their targeted grades. Having achieved a 2:1 grade at degree level, an A grade at A-level, and an A* at GCSE level, I feel very comfortable with teaching the variety of mathematics that each level consists of - be it algebra, statistics, geometry etc.

Knowledge of mathematics is based around a strong foundation of the basic principles. Therefore I prefer to break down each topic into step-by-step points of information that is required to be known prior, in order to create a good base on which can be built upon. With the use of diagrams and examples, I then aim to cover all styles of learning to allow the student to gain a clear understanding of each subject, before then approaching exam-style questions and scenarios. Mathematics is best learnt by doing, as opposed to watching, and so practice is the key element to which I shall structure my teaching.
