About Jane
Growing up in public schools in central Portland I felt pressure to pursue a major which would prepare me for reliable employment. After a year of math and computer science classes I realized that I didn't want to pay to pursue a degree that I didn't care about. I ended up adoring the English department at Occidental college, where I was awarded the outstanding english major three years in a row and received distinction on my senior thesis. I plan to pursue a doctorate in English Literature with a concentration in early modern texts, after which I would like to teach at the collegiate level.

I have plenty of quick tips on how to improve essay organization, sentence structure, and note taking, but more than that I have a genuine desire to help you experience academic english as a joyful communion between author and audience that can illuminate a plurality of truths about our past and present.
