About Jamila
Hi! My name is Jamila, I'm a recent IB graduate having studied in Switzerland and currently pursuing a medical/biomedical degree in Australia. What I love most about being a tutor is seeing things "click" - that moment when my students finally understand that one concept or problem that never made sense. I have previously tutored for both IGCSE and IB Chemistry and Math, so I usually stick to the more STEM side of things, although I am passionate about literature as well! Outside of my studies I love figure skating, traveling, concerts and hiking. If you are looking to try out lessons with me, I am excited to work with you and help you achieve your academic goals!

I prefer to tailor my lessons to each student's particular needs, as we all learn differently! I prefer teaching using active learning methods, by first making sure my students have a deep understanding of the topics they are studying and then applying this knowledge in a question and problem-based context. From my two years' experience, my lessons usually last one hour as this usually works best in terms of focus and productivity. My lessons are catered towards students in their last two years of high school, but I also have experience teaching younger children mathematics!
