About Chloe

I didn't excel at every subject in school and had 1-to-1 tutoring myself for GCSE maths. I don't believe in natural ability and think with enough attention, understanding and support anyone can achieve any grade or pass any exam.

I know how important tutoring can be for learning when teaching time is disrupted, so want to put my experience to good use where I can.

During my time studying I have always been able to positively offer advice for my friends academic work. I never want to make anyone feel stressed because they don't get something the first, tenth or twentieth time.

As I have no previous experience, you know I will put the most effort in and will be adaptable to whichever teaching style works best.

About the lesson

Teaching methodology:
My lessons can focus on writing style, course content, interpretation, exam preparation or all of the above. I am able to assist at any stage of learning, whether aiming to pass or achieve a higher grade. I value being kind, understanding and moving at a student's own pace - absolutely no judgement here.

Lesson length:
Provisionally I'd recommend hour-long session, however this can be adjusted within reason due to needs and availability.

Qualifications and experience:
Recently graduated from the University of Glasgow, earning an undergrad MA in History with First Class honours, looking towards a master's degree.

I am able to help with writing skills, having also gained experience through university courses in english literature and theology. I maintained high grades at university and achieved 95% in my dissertation.

I am able to adapt to whatever content needed, if given resources (e.g. online resources or scans of text books). I do have previous experience with studying:
- American West c1835-c1895 (Edexcel GCSE)
- Crime and Punishment in Britain (Edexcel GCSE)
- WWI & WWII (Edexcel GCSE)
- the American Revolution (A Level)
- British politics c1850-c1950 (A Level)
- early modern European warfare (A Level)

I have no previous experience with professional tutoring, but have informally tutored my younger sister with her recent history GCSE. I also have six years previous experience in customer service and currently work in retail, so am familiar with working in a welcoming and professional manner.

Lesson level:
Given my level of academic qualification, I am happy to teach up to and including GCSE/Nat 5 level.
