About Meharin

I recently earned my Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Science from Université Paris Cité and am continuing to teach both English and French here in the United States of America. I recently moved from France after living there for 10 years.

There is no honors system in my University but I earned my High School Diploma (Baccalauréat) with high honors in 2018 and have always been praised by my professors for my good study habits and ability to adapt.

Having learned multiple languages myself (French, English, Bengali and Spanish), I have become familiar with useful strategies and the methods required to master a language with ease.

Since 2019, I have been tutoring English and French to students of all ages and levels, and even preparing them for exams like the DELF. I am therefore proficient in preparing lessons, creating exercises and implementing an active pedagogy taking into account the different levels and working methods of the students.

About the lesson

I love talking and interacting with people, so I encourage my students to be active during the lessons, since speaking the language and participating in class are the best ways to learn a language.

My lessons are therefore interactive, centered around the student's goals. The first lesson allows me to understand the intentions of the student, with which I plan the remaining lessons, and update the lesson plans according to the student's progress.

Each lesson starts with a recap of the previous lesson, we discuss what we learned last time and go back if there are notions that remain unclear. Then, I use my Powerpoint presentation to guide the lesson, including videos, exercises and tips to engage the student.

At the end of each lesson, I usually give "homework" which consists of either videos to watch, something to read, exercises to do or vocabulary to learn. The student is also advised to review the previous lesson before each class.

My lessons are for Beginners, Elementary and Intermediate level students or anyone interested in the French language and culture.
