About Meg
I have experience teaching primary and secondary school-aged students in Grades 1-5 of music theory. I have a passion for musical education and believe this should be accessible to all students, no matter their background or experience. My own expertise means that I have the ability to impart these onto others successfully. I am fun-loving and easy to get along with, so I can make one-to-one sessions interesting, personalised and flexible. I pride myself on my own time management abilities and organisational skills, meaning that each lesson will have been prepared in advance, according to any previous aims set. I have successfully guided 14 students to Distinction marks in grades 1-3 and 5 students to Distinction marks in grades 4-5 of the ABRSM exam board.

My lessons are unique and personalised to each student's needs, including practice questions written in line with the ABRSM specification. Each new student will receive a trial session, where we will identify their strengths and areas for improvement in order to tailor each session. To complement my knowledge, I am able to successfully guide students through their exam preparation, including time management skills. My lessons include a range of teaching methods, increasing knowledge retention. These include practice exam questions, informal quizzes, and audio tools.

We hired Meg to tutor my sister in her AS levels as she had to retake her history exam and I cannot express how impressed I was with her. Not only she was excellent at explaining the subject to my sister, who generally did not enjoy this subject in particular at school, but she was constantly including me in the process of their sessions leaving the most thorough feedback and expressing her honest concerns and the weaknesses that needed to be attended to. My sister ended up passing the exam by moving two grades up! Meg is very gifted in tutoring and if you decide to hire her you will not be disappointed.
