About Mary
I have a lot of experience working with children, as I was a nanny (1-13 yrs old) and children's hospital volunteer for 4 years. I understand the value of patience and understanding when it comes to interacting with and teaching youth.
Additionally, I have a Bachelor's degree in Human Biology from UCSD and graduated high school at the top of my class with a 4.2 GPA. I value education and knowledge, and hope to share that passion with those I have the opportunity of teaching.

I value a teaching method that is both engaging and effective for the student as an individual learner. Everyone learns differently, and it is important for me to discover and implement whichever method is most effective for each student.
A typical lesson plan would involve assessing how much the student already knows or understands, and then focusing on and working through the more challenging curriculum, using both the resources given to the student in the classroom, as well as my own resources I've used in my education through the years.
