About Makenna
I decided to become an elementary educator because of the highs and lows I experienced growing up. I believe I am most successful when I have someone in my corner cheering me on and showing me patience when I need extra time or when I don’t understand something. That is the person I always strive to be for my students. There is no “perfect learner”, we all learn differently.

I find tutoring to be a powerful tool in education. Tutoring helps students build confidence not only in their focus subject but also in themselves. With every student, I take what they already know and coach them in how we use our pre-existing strengths and background knowledge from any subject to build our resiliency in a subject we may not be confident in YET.
