About Chioma

Hi there! I’m a dedicated educator and STEM enthusiast with an Associate of Arts (A.A.) in Math & Science. Having spent the 2025–2026 school year tutoring extensively, I specialize in helping middle and high school students bridge the gap between confusion and confidence in everything from foundational Algebra to Trigonometry.

For me, math and science are more than just subjects on a transcript—they are the lenses through which we can understand how the world works. This passion drives both my teaching philosophy and my personal academic journey, as I am currently preparing to continue my education at a California University.

About the lesson

My lessons are primarily designed for high school students (Grades 9–12) navigating foundational and advanced mathematics. However, because of my academic background, I also support middle schoolers prepping for high school math.
An average session will look like the following...

The Warm-Up & Review: Addressing any questions from their school homework or reviewing the core concept from our previous session.

Concept Introduction: I lead a slideshow presentation breaking down the day's new mathematical concept or theorem into digestible steps.

Collaborative Guided Practice (20–40 mins): We dive into practice problems together. I walk through the first few, and then the student takes the wheel while I provide real-time feedback and strategy adjustments.

Independent Reflection & Wrap-Up: We wrap up by summarizing the key takeaway of the day and setting a clear goal for the next session.

These sessions are meant to have a lot of repetition to ensure understanding of concepts.
