About Lotte
I have a BA in Dutch literature from Leiden University and an MPhil in comparative literature from Cambridge University. I have previously tought three secondary school students, who came in with grades varying from 4 to 6 (out of 10), and ended at a steady 8 with an occasional 9. Apart from my academic background, I have worked as a comedian. The skills I have gained from that job enable me to make my lessons engaging and captivating.

I base my classes on what the students want or need to learn. I teach Dutch language skills as well as Dutch literature at all levels, from the absolute basics of speaking/reading/listening/writing to the details of Dutch syntax and the history of the language, from a 101 course in Dutch literature to an in-depth discussion of post-WWII Dutch poetry. The structure of my lessons revolves around the needs of the students (a language lesson with speaking practice looks very different from a book discussion).
