About Katerina
I have a joint advanced major in Biology and Psychology from Saint Francis Xavier University, in Nova Scotia. I have professional experience in leadership roles, including having to train new employees in a retail position. I have recently been a teaching assistant in Biochemistry and Developmental Biology courses, giving me great experience in helping students to succeed in the sciences. In addition, I have been a coach of a sport team at the University for four years, giving me the needed experience in teaching, communication, and professionalism.

I like to ask students some questions to see what they know. I always encourage them to re-read the passage or question being asked, before assuming they do not know the answer. I break questions down into parts and ensure that students are going back through their notes to find relevant information that can help them get to the answer- and then assist them in synthesizing this information into a comprehensive answer to the question. I also like to help students develop good study habits by encouraging practice questions and applying the knowledge to real life scenarios.

Charge per session differs based on distance traveled (if the student can meet me at a location that is equal distance for both of us, there is no travel charge). Travel charge will be based on km of travel. Cancellation 24h in advance required. Cancellation less than 24h in advance will incur a 10$ fee to compensate for schedule upset. Scheduling sessions well in advance is highly encouraged! Thank you.
