About Dominic
Dominic's life in music is a synergy of his activities as pianist, piano tutor and concert promoter. As an essential part of his musical journey Dominic spent three years immersed in the world of jazz improvisation. His experience in both the classical and jazz genres grew into a desire to build a concert agency to help performers. As a result the Dominic Seligman Agency was born and has been producing private and public concerts both in the UK and internationally for over seven years.

Dominic is an extremely attentive and thoughtful piano tutor.
I met him through a mutual friend who is an accomplished pianist.
Dominic is thorough and attaches importance to slow and methodical piano practice. His philosophy of 'learning to walk before you run' pays dividends. Dominic has taught both my children and one of them has become a music scholar and won some piano competitions thanks to his tutor's methods. Dominic has a very kind manner and an excellent sense of humour too. As a tutor, I could not recommend him more highly. William Mitchell, London.Dominic has been my piano teacher for over 5 years now. I was an adult beginner and Dominic has been super patient, allowing me to take my time and providing lots of different exercises, helping me to achieve the parts of piano playing I have found more difficult.
Dominic is very friendly and easy to talk to, even for someone as introverted as myself. He has many great stories which will brighten up your day and put you at ease.
For all the reasons above I would highly recommend Dominic to any student.Dominic is amazingly astute in his piano teaching. His impressive musical background makes him well versed in his field and transfers that into his tutoring. He reignited my love for piano and elevated my knowledge in both theory and playing. I would highly recommend!
I have been learning piano with Dominic for ca. 18 months now, I am an intermediate-level student. Dominic is excellent - a highly skilled concert pianist, but with a knack for communicating which has helped me to progress beyond what I would have thought possible. He has helped me overcome numerous obstacles in my playing with some very simple but effective techniques. I cannot recommend him highly enough.
Dominic was recommended to me by my friend. Since the very first lesson my friends noticed the change in my performance thanks to Dominic's instant understanding of what I could improve straightaway. At the same time, he would never say if anything is wrong but rather select sections or bars that would help me to bring it all together. Dominic is very polite and friendly. His methods are professional, brilliant in their simplicity and worthy of a book. Something that I always liked as an interesting feature is that as I believe he is one if few teachers in the world who carries the Chopin's methodology in him as he is the composer's student in the fourth generation. Just a nice pleasant thing to know! I always recommend Dominic to anyone I know of absolutely any age. The level of what his knowledge, skill and experience is outstanding so any student would find it extremely useful to study under Dominic's supervision.
I had Dominic when I was thirteen years old, and he has been a great teacher and coach for my piano-playing. I was already at an intermediate level at the time playing ABRSM Grade 4 pieces but with him he provided a positive experience when I bravely took on to play Mozart's Turkish March. Even though he initially thought it may be too difficult for me at the time, he supported me and I was able to acquire it for my repertoire collection.
It was then after this time, along with passing ABRSM Grade 4 with a Merit, that we would venture towards playing the piano at an advanced level. He would explain to me why pieces like Beethoven's Sonata Pathétique and Debussy's Claire de lune required careful attention when practising, and also act as my supervisor when I had the opportunity to play the first movement of Bach's BWV 1052 at a public concert when I had about two to three months to learn it.
I would highly recommend Dominic as a Piano teacher as he is not only qualified, but he has done an excellent job at helping me realise my love for the piano by his supportive and kind nature when I was practising some incredibly difficult pieces. I have learned so much about what the life of a professional pianist might entail from him, and to this day I am still playing the piano thanks to him.Under the tutelage of Dominic, my piano education has soared to extraordinary heights. A true maestro, Dominic's concert-grade mastery and profound music theory knowledge have reshaped my understanding of music.
His unconventional charm adds an element of whimsy to each lesson. Balancing technical precision with playful anecdotes, Dominic's lovable eccentricity creates an atmosphere of joy and curiosity.
As a performer on prestigious stages, Dominic's insights breathe life into his teachings. He seamlessly weaves his personal experiences into lessons, infusing aspiration and authenticity.
In essence, Dominic is a beacon of excellence in piano instruction. His expertise, coupled with his endearing eccentricity, offers a musical journey that's both captivating and enlightening.Dominic was my piano teacher piano recently for over two years. He is a dedicated teacher, happy to accommodate every age and all abilities, catering both for those who wish to take exams and those who don't. He has a delightful sense of humour, but sets high standards and expects regular practice.
With his help and encouragement, I started playing after a long gap of many years and reached a reasonable standard and decided to take the Grade 8 exam, which I could never have contemplated without his support. I wholeheartedly recommend him.I started Piano lessons with Dominik and this was my first time learning the Piano. He was ever so patient with me and taught in a way in which it was easily understood. It was so clear to see how passionate he is about his art and the love to also share this with others. Also creates an environment where you can feel comfortable to be the beginner and be patient yourself too! Would highly recommend Dominik!!!
Dominic taught two of my teenage children the piano and I can thoroughly recommend him. They enjoyed their lessons and found him great company as well as an engaging teacher. He went to great lengths to encourage their enthusiam, even taking them to a concert, an experience they much enjoyed.
He is a very thorough and accomplished musician, with a track record of success with students I know well. He is a highly engaging man, with an excellent sense of humour and a kind approach.
