About Vanessa
As a certified elementary school teacher, I specialize in helping young learners—especially struggling readers—build strong, lasting literacy skills in a supportive and encouraging environment.
I use structured, phonics-based instruction combined with engaging, personalized activities to help each child develop confidence, fluency, and comprehension at their own pace.
I understand that learning to read can be challenging and, at times, frustrating for children. That’s why I place a strong emphasis on creating a positive, patient, and motivating atmosphere where students feel safe to take risks and celebrate their progress.
With experience working with elementary students of varying levels and abilities, I am well-equipped to support children who are below grade level, reluctant readers, or in need of extra guidance to succeed academically.
My goal is not only to improve reading skills, but to help each student develop confidence, independence, and a sense of pride in their learning!

I use a structured literacy approach grounded in the science of reading to support struggling readers. My teaching focuses on building strong foundational skills through explicit, systematic instruction.
