About Wilfred

Hi! I am Wilfred and I'm a 4th year Master of Chiropractic student at Macquarie University, originally from Hong Kong. My musical journey began at 4. Over the years, I dedicated countless hours to refine my skills, leading to a significant milestone at the age of 15 when I achieved the ATCL qualification (equivalent in standard to the first-year recital of an undergraduate degree in violin performance). I had 8 years experience in orchestras and ensembles. I was the concertmaster of my secondary school. I have represented the Hong Kong Youth Symphony Orchestra (HKYSO) at the Sydney International Music Festival in 2018. I used to learn with Ms Cai Pak Yi, a member of the Hong Kong Sinfonietta, affiliated with APAHK, and a distinguished soloist. I had more than 10 beginner students from 10-52 years old in the past and I am able to speak Mandarin, Cantonese and English fluently.

About the lesson

I am here to provide engaging violin lessons that will help you achieve your musical aspirations. With my years of teaching experience, I have successfully guided numerous beginners on their musical journey. During our lessons, I will utilize creative and interactive teaching methods to ensure that each session is interesting and captivating. My students range from 10 years old to 55 years old. My lessons are typically one hour long (according to different levels), allowing ample time for learning, practice, and exploration. We will mainly focus on -proper technique -understanding musical theory -developing correct posture -sight reading -provide a range of materials (scales, music pieces, etudes) I am qualified to teach students up to AMEB Grade 8 level, ensuring a comprehensive and well-rounded musical education. Regardless of your goals, whether it's to join an orchestra, master your favorite melodies, or simply experience the joy of creating beautiful music, I am dedicated to helping you succeed.
