About Natalie
I am an OCT qualified supply teacher with just over 5 years of experience working in a French school board. I have just as many years experience working with a couple of tutoring agencies tutoring students from grade 1 to grade 12 in French, English and mathematics. I have a degree in sciences (bachelor with a major in geology and minor in physics) and a teachable in sciences.

I like to tutor one on one because it allows me the chance to know the student's particular needs and to cater to those. I enjoy getting to know my students through our sessions and being able to create lessons that are fun and relevant to them by adding in the things that interest them. For example, if a student is learning French as a Second language and loves hockey, this is a great opportunity to teach the hockey vocabulary in French and to include it in our conversations. It's also a great ice breaker!
I like to use an approach called scaffolding which essentially puts the student in charge of their learning. I like to prepare lessons in which students will be challenged but also empowered and successful. I will guide them and support them on their learning journey and aid them in achieving their academic goals while also building on their learning skills and study habits.

Details
First session (30 minutes) free in order to meet the student and assess needs and strengths and to set learning goals. All lessons thereafter will be 60 minutes long at my regular rate.
