About Ruby-Maebh
I am a professionally trained dancer with a degree in Performing Arts, a BA in Professional Practice, and a Master’s in Secondary Education specialising in Dance. I have taught across primary and secondary settings, worked in SEND provisions and pupil referral units, and supported students from a wide range of backgrounds and abilities. As someone with an ADHD diagnosis myself, I understand the challenges students face in staying organised, motivated and confident. I’ve always loved learning, but I know how difficult it can be to juggle deadlines, revision and expectations without structured support. My experiences have shaped my passion for academic coaching: helping young people feel capable, supported and in control of their learning. I enjoy building positive relationships with students and combining academic guidance with wellbeing awareness to help them progress both personally and academically.

My lessons use evidence-based interventions to support students with organisation, study skills, revision planning and overall confidence. I take a calm, relational approach and build strong, supportive working relationships with my students so I can understand their specific needs and tailor each session effectively. Sessions are usually 45 minutes and begin with a quick check-in to identify priorities for the week. I provide clear structure, manageable goals and personalised strategies, especially for students who struggle with overwhelm, focus or executive function challenges. My aim is always to reassure students that they are capable and doing better than they think, while giving them practical tools that boost confidence, independence and curiosity. I work with KS3, GCSE and A-Level learners and adapt every session to help them feel organised, motivated and in control of their learning.
