About Liz
I'm a qualified teacher, tutor, coach and mentor, and I've spent much of my career working with teenagers and young adults in education and sport.
What I enjoy most is getting to know the individual behind the grades, deadlines and expectations. Young people don't all learn, organise themselves or find motivation in the same way, and sometimes having another trusted adult to talk things through with can make a real difference.
My background includes a BSc in Sport Psychology and Coaching Sciences, qualified teacher status, and many years of teaching, tutoring, assessing, coaching and mentoring young people. I've also worked extensively with young athletes balancing education, training, competition and everyday life.
I want young people to feel comfortable being honest about what's working and what isn't. I'm friendly and approachable, but I'll also gently challenge them, help them take responsibility and celebrate the progress they make along the way.
Ultimately, I want the young people I work with to become more confident, capable and independent, and hopefully need me a little less as a result!

My approach is friendly, practical and completely individual to the young person. I don't believe one method works for everyone, so we start by looking at what is going well, what feels difficult and what they would like some help with.
Sessions are relaxed but purposeful. We might work on organisation and time management, study skills, motivation, confidence, balancing commitments, managing deadlines or preparing for what's next. I particularly enjoy helping young people find strategies that actually work for them, rather than simply telling them to be more organised!
Sessions are usually around 45 to 60 minutes, depending on the young person and what we are working on.
I am a qualified teacher, with a BSc in Sport Psychology and Coaching Sciences, and have many years of experience teaching, tutoring, coaching and mentoring young people. My work has included supporting young people through education and high performance sport, including holistic development, life skills, learning, goal setting and balancing education with other commitments.
I primarily work with teenagers and young adults, particularly those navigating GCSEs, A Levels, college and the transition towards greater independence.
My aim isn't to manage things for them. It's to help them develop the confidence, skills and strategies to manage things for themselves.
